The company said on its official website (opens in a new tab). Or, more specifically, it’s said to be holding an event called “Cloud 11” on February 7, but then there’s a button at the bottom of the page that you can click to learn more about the OnePlus 11 5G, which is name there. Push. So it pretty much confirms that this phone will be on Cloud 11.

By the way, the only additional details you can learn by pressing that button are Hasselblad cameras (which we already knew about) and an alert slider.

The OnePlus Buds Pro 2 have also been mentioned, so they are also expected to arrive on February 7th, suggesting that there may be some surprises in store as well.

The event starts at 6 am. m. PT / 9 a.m. m. ET / 2 p.m. m. GMT on February 7th or 1am.

That’s not the only OnePlus 11 news, though, as MySmartPrice (Opens in a new tab) also spotted the phone in the Geekbench 5 benchmark.

This benchmark points to the Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 chipset, which we totally expected as the OnePlus 10 Pro uses Snapdragon 8 Gen 1. It also mentions 16GB of RAM, which is more than you can get with the OnePlus 10 Pro. However, this is probably the top model, so we expect a 12GB version and possibly an 8GB version as well.

Android 13 is also mentioned, and OnePlus 11 scored a single-core score of 1,493 and a multi-core score of 5,112 in this benchmark. These are impressive scores, with this year’s best Android phones generally scoring below 1,200 single-core and below 4,000 multi-core. But of course they often use older chipsets as well, so it makes sense.

We take this benchmark with a grain of salt, too, because even if it’s real, it’s based on pre-release hardware, and benchmark scores are generally not worth reading too much of at the best of times. However, we will soon know exactly how well the OnePlus 11 performs.

Analysis: OnePlus is ramping up the teasers

The OnePlus 11 release date announcement is not the first sneak peek we have for this phone. Just a few days ago, OnePlus released a teaser video showing off the camera block and Hasselblad branding.

Nothing else has been released from the company yet, but expect more official trailers and details to come out in the coming weeks, as OnePlus has a habit of releasing information about its phones before the full reveal.

In fact, we’ll likely know more about the OnePlus 11 when it’s unveiled on February 7. It’s an odd practice that might detract from the launch event a bit, but might cause a stir beforehand. It probably works for OnePlus anyway, or the company wouldn’t keep doing it.

OnePlus will definitely need to generate some buzz either way, as the OnePlus 11 will have some serious competition from Samsung’s Galaxy S23 series which is also due to launch in February.
