Reliance Industries Limited (RIL) Chief Executive Officer Mukesh Ambani made several important announcements during the company’s Annual General Meeting (AGM) on Monday. During the AGM, Reliance Jio Chairman Akash Ambani also announced JioAirfiber. The JioAirfiber Home Gateway is a single-device plug-and-play wireless Wi-Fi access point that allows users to enjoy super-fast fiber-like internet at home and in the office.
JioAirFiber makes it easy to connect any office and home to Gigabit Internet. Akash Ambani said that with the rollout of 5G services in India, the current 800 million internet-connected devices will double to 1.5 billion internet-connected devices in just one year.
What is JioAirfiber?
Works with Airfiber radio solutions and is completely wireless. AirFiber uses fixed broadband technology to deliver the same speeds and services as a traditional broadband provider. AirFiber also has the bandwidth to connect hundreds of homes and offices with high-speed broadband.

At the AGM, Reliance Jio Chairman Akash Ambani has also announced JioAirfiber. JioAirfiber Home Gateway, is a wireless plug-and-play single device WiFi hotspot that will allow users to use fiber-like ultra-high-speed internet at homes and offices.
With JioAirFiber, connecting any office and home to gigabit-speed internet will become much easier. Akash Ambani said that with the launch of 5G services in India, the existing 800 million connected internet devices will double to 1.5 billion connected internet devices in just one year.
What is JioAirfiber?
Airfiber works on a radio-based solution, and it is completely wireless. AirFiber uses fixed broadband technology to deliver high-speed and service like a traditional broadband provider. AirFiber also has the bandwidth to connect hundreds of homes and offices with ultra-high-speed broadband in a short amount of time.
How different is JioAirFiber from JioFiber?
Jio Fiber is a fiber-to-the-home (FTTH) internet broadband service provided by the telecom operator Reliance Jio Infocomm. It was first announced as Jio GigaFiber at the 41st AGM of Reliance Industries in 2018. The FTTH broadband service promises speeds of up to 1 gigabit per second.
On the other hand JioAirFiber also provides speed like JioFiber broadband connection. But it also unlocks many different experiences like interactive live content, cloud gaming, immersive shopping. JioAirFiber has the capability to connect hundreds of homes and offices at the same time.
Along with this, Jio has also introduced the JioCloud device. This is a Virtual PC, which is in the cloud used in Jio True 5G. The good thing is that this will save a lot of customers. It has been told in the AGM that through this device, home and office laptops will be able to get power at an affordable price.
The company has told about the new device that JioAirFiber will save people from all the expenses associated with buying computer hardware and upgrading them from time to time. In addition, users can also use Virtual PC hosted in the cloud named Jio Cloud PC.

Reliance said, Jio Cloud PC does not require any additional investment of any kind. The company said that this device will prove to be a game changer for the students and small businessmen of the country.
Kiran Thomas, CEO, Jio Platforms said, “With no upfront investment or the tension of upgrading from time to time, the user has to pay only for the service used. In this way, it will be a very economical way to power multiple PCs for every Indian home and business.
Giving an example, Kiran Thomas said that today, most households have to buy a PC or a laptop, and then spend even more money to upgrade it in a few years. But now by using JioAirFiber, customers can avoid all such expenses, and can opt for Virtual PC hosted in the cloud.
