Cricket fans recommended Mohammad Amir as replacement of Shaheen Shah Afridi for T20 Asia Cup 2022

KARACHI: Former Pakistani Mohammad Amir was surprised to see himself on Twitter on Saturday.

After Shaheen Shah Afridi’s departure from the national team for T20 Asia Cup 2022, Pakistani fans started recommending Amir as his replacement.

Aamir, who retired in 2020, reacted to the Twitter trend saying why his fans asked the question. “I’m on Twitter, but why?” Left Pacemaker wrote.

In response, many asked him to withdraw his pension and join the Pakistan team in Shaheen’s absence.

In 2020, Amir retired from international cricket, citing differences with then Pakistan team coach Misbah-ul-Haq and bowling coach Waqar Younis. Pacemaker claimed to be a favorite of trainers.

Aamir is currently representing the Rawalkot Hawks in Season 2 of the Kashmir Premier League (KPL). He has given away 96 runs in three matches so far and has been able to take only two wickets

In reply, a lot of people asked him to take his retirement back and join Pakistan team in absence of Shaheen.
