Aamir Azim Bajwa has been directed to continue working until a new PTA chairman is appointed.
According to ProPakistani, the cabinet division has requested that PTA Chairman Aamir Azim Bajwa continue to work for three more weeks.
According to sources in the cabinet division, Chairman PTA Amir Azim Bajwa will end his four-year tenure on January 2, 2023. It will take 3 more weeks for the Federal Government to appoint a new chairman after the process is initiated by the Federal Government. The day-to-day affairs of authority will be run by Aamir Azim Bajwa until a new chairman is appointed.
Aamir Azim Bajwa’s proposal for an extension of his tenure as chairman of PTA has already been rejected by the federal government.
In addition, the cabinet division has issued an advertisement for the appointment of a new chairman with a maximum age limit of 57 years.
Since Aamir Azim Bajwa is over 60 years of age, he cannot reapply for the post of chairman due to this 57-year age limit.
As part of the PTA, a summary has also been sent for an extension of the term of Member (Compliance & Enforcement) Dr. Khawar Siddique Khokhar, who will retire on January 14, 2023. There has been no response from the federal government to the summary for extending the tenure of Dr. Khawar Siddique by four years, according to sources.
