Called “Dearmoon”, this moon flight crew was created by a Japanese billionaire and included ten creative minds worldwide.
Japanese billionaire Yusaku Maezawa, who reserved all eight seats on SpaceX’s first moonwalk, his crew announced. With ten creatives from around the world, the team includes professionals such as rappers, DJs, YouTubers, and even Bollywood actors.
Among the most iconic takes on Maezawa’s “Dearmoon” team are American DJ Steve Aoki and K-POP artist/Big Bang member.
This lunar flyby is scheduled for 2023, the first trip to the Moon since the moon landing in 1972. While this moon tour for SpaceX won’t be a proper moon landing, the spacecraft will come within 200 kilometres of the Moon and orbit around it.
The total trip will be about 8 days, including takeoff and landing time, which is an exciting trip for the selected artists from different parts of the world.
The SpaceX spacecraft designed to carry the “Dearmoon” crew on its lunar journey is currently at the SpaceX facility in Texas. The spacecraft is already awaiting approval from US regulators and will take off as soon as the green flag is raised.
Mr. Maezawa seems so excited and proud of his Deermon team, to reveal the team that he launched a website and even created a promotional video.
Dermon’s team members include (Korean rapper) Top, (dancer and choreographer) Ymi A.D., (photographer) Rhiannon Adam, (wildlife photographer) Karim Elia, (filmmaker) Brendan Hall, (Bollywood actor) Dev Joshi, (Youtube) Tim Dodd, and the famous DJ Aoki.
Speaking of his crew, Mr. Maezawa said, “I hope everyone understands the responsibility that comes with leaving Earth and traveling to the Moon and back.”
