Telenor Services Disrupted by Fibre Cuts

Telenor network in Pakistan is facing network problems and as a result diverse group of customers are unable to access various services.

According to a statement issued by the company and shared on Twitter, the recent heavy rains and flash floods have damaged the fiber optic network in several districts of Sindh and central Punjab.

The optical fiber network has been damaged due to heavy rains and floods in some areas of Sindh and central Punjab. As a direct result of this, it is possible that a significant number of our customers will experience service interruptions, for which we are truly sorry. Our operational staff will do their best to restore service as soon as possible.

“As a result, many of our customers may experience service interruptions,” the statement said. In addition, the statement included the following: “Our field staff are working diligently to make service restoration a priority.”

Customers in areas including Islamabad, Rawalpindi, Lahore and Karachi saw disruptions in their services. Telenor users in the states of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and Balochistan also reported that their services were disrupted while they waited for the operator to resume services immediately.
